John Tricou, MD
John Tricou graduated with a BS in chemistry at the University of Illinois in 1983. He graduated from medical school at the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1987. His internship was at Loyola University and his residency was at the University of Illinois Hospital from 1987 – 1992. He is currently a ‘solo practitioner’ radiologist at Iroquois Memorial Hospital.
John wrote the following statement: Two of my three children were learning horseback riding at one point or another. My youngest daughter really took to horseback riding. When she started to excel at riding, she found Sojourn TRC where she rode an advanced dressage horse named Blackie.
Initially, my daughter and my wife were volunteering for Sojourn TRC. As the need for more volunteers continued to increase, I started to volunteer as well. I saw obvious results and progress among the clients. As this is consistent with my own interests of helping people, I became increasingly committed to Sojourn TRC.
I am currently working on improving my own riding skills and working towards becoming a PATH International Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor.
